REZENANCE GROUP SOUNDBATHS | GONGBATHS & 121 THERAPEUTIC SOUND
Scientific research has shown how therapeutic sound can help to reduce stress and anxiety by inducing a state of relaxation. It can invite gentle, yet powerful restorative processes to nurture your wellbeing and through the brainwave changes it can have a range of physiological benefits : such as helping to reduce tension & pain, improving sleep, soothing and regulating the nervous system, helping rebalance the biological rhythms within the body. Research shows how it can support our immune system and there is now evidence demonstrating the positive impact 40hz is having on cognitive function with Alzheimer's patients.

During these sessions the brainwave state is altered from normal waking state (beta) to relaxed state (alpha), dreamlike state (theta), and even restorative state (delta). As the mind and body relax, the heart rate slows and blood pressure decreases.

Therapeutic Sound is not recommended
If you experience epilepsy, or types of sound related seizures, or if you have a sound sensitive condition such as Labyrinthitis or Meniere’s Disease.
If you have a pace maker.
If you are less than 12 weeks pregnant.

If in doubt please do check with your doctor if this kind of therapy is suitable for you.
During the group sessions that take place (in a studio setting) you will need to bring a yoga mat to lie on (exception the Rezenance studio in Sidmouth) and a cushion or pillow, or whatever you find comfortable. It is best to wear comfy clothes (and bring some warm socks & a blanket if it's winter). If you like it darker, a cushion or eye mask and please bring water with you to keep hydrated before and afterwards. Please do inform me beforehand of any disability so I can support you and provide more comfort, or a chair etc if needed.

Please also make sure gadgets and phones are on silent, or ideally turned off - this is a time to uplug.

For individual sessions these often take place on a massage couch lying down - but please do let me know if you would prefer a chair, or a massage chair, or a memory foam mat. Also if you have any aversion to being placed on your front with your head face down supported in a face cradle.
